PH Davis Cuppers nanaig sa doubles

HINDI puwedeng tawaran ang determinasyon at puso nina Fil-Ams Treat Huey at Ruben Gonzales na balikatin ang malamig na kampanya ng Philippine Davis Cup team sa Chinese Taipei sa 2015 Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group II semifinals tie sa Kaohsiung Yangming Tennis Courts sa Kaohsiung City, Chinese Taipei.

“Both of them were relax and look very confident considering their opponents are highly ranked and are doubles specialists,” wika ni Philippine Davis Cup administrator Randy Villanueva.

Ang panalo ang tumapyas sa kalamangan ng host Taiwanese team, 2-1, at pipiliting sakyan ang mahalagang panalo sa paglarga ng reversed singles ngayon.

Si Patrombon, na natalo kay Hung Jui Chen, 2-6, 2-6, 1-6, sa unang singles, ay nominado para harapin ang world number 61 sa singles na si Lu Yen Hsun.

Nakita ang galing ni Lu sa 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 straight sets panalo kay Tierro na nominadong labanan si Hung sa ikalawang reversed singles.

Dahil sa kahalagahan ng laro ay hindi malayong magpalit ng players ang bansa para makasilat kina Lu at Hung na sariwang haharap sa laro na magsisimula ngayong alas-11 ng umaga.

“It’s possible that either one of them or maybe both of them will play,” ani pa ni Villanueva.

Ang mananalo sa tie na ito ang makakaharap ng Pakistan sa finals sa Setyembre 18 hanggang 20.
