Aniya pa, tahimik ang mga non-singers sa issue dahil, “They know the truth” at kapag nag-comment sila ay they are “discrediting their own work so ‘wag na. Sing and let sing.”
Tila pagtatanggol pa ni Martin, maganda na rin daw na merong mga album ang mga non-singers, at least merong maiuuwing souvenir ang kanilang tagahanga at maisama ito sa kanilang playlist.
Sabi pa ni Martin, there is sometimes no other way to promote on TV than to sing. Dito may nag-react and said, “Non-singers promote by singing? I understand Martin’s point.
But capitalizing and making a career out of it (case in point: may second album and concerts) is a different story. It’s not their core so give it to people who takes it seriously and respect the craft.
“Producers also should respect the art beyond topline growth. Here in SK, 3.5years ang average but training can take a year to 7 years depending on the trainees’ raw talent and targeted market, genre & trends.
HOWEVER, they have so much respect for their KPop industry. “That’s why they work so hard prior to debut. Talent and musicality mean so much to them on top of looks.
They do not welcome mediocrity as their biggest agencies claim it (SM, YG & JYP). “Their actors & actresses who can sing participate in musicals and sing on-screen.
BUT, they do not do album releases as they respect that it’s the KPop artists’ core and forte. I think its delikadesa in Filipino.
“And respect for the art and the people who deserve it better. They also put budgets for indie artists. And they do hard core musical experiments.
From this, we can say by comparison na relatively tamad ang industry natin because producers do it the easier way by taking advantage of big stars’ bankability and reach via different platforms.
Plus the fact that our major local record labels are owned by the biggest stations.” Oo nga naman.
Talagang malayo na ang inabot ng “I hate artists who lip sync” ni Rhap Salazar, ha.
Imagine, the likes of Gary Valenciano, Vice Ganda, Boy Abunda, Lea Salonga and now Martin Nievera have reacted on this. Ang taray ng aria mo, Rhap.
