Pinag-iingat ni Cebu Rep. Gerald Anthony Gullas ang publiko laban sa mga ibinebentang pekeng gamot.
Ayon kay Gullas hindi dapat tumigil ang otoridad sa paghahanap sa mga gumagawa at nagbebenta ng pekeng gamot na mapanganib sa mga pasyente na umaasang sila ay gagaling.
“Counterfeit drugs defraud consumers and may be harmful to the health of patrons. In some cases, they are likely to put at risk the lives of seriously ill patients,” ani Gullas.
Noong nakaraang ay nakakumpiska ng kahon-kahong pekeng gamot sa mga pharmacy ang National Bureau of Investigation sa Cebu, Mandaue, Talisay at Naga.
Ang mga pekeng gamot ay kahawig umano ng itsura ng mga totoong Amoclav, Calcibloc, Alaxan FR, Inoflux, Solmux, Solmux Broncho, Aspilets, Biogesic, Diatabs, Tuseran, Neozep, Medicol Advance, Decolgen, Dolfenal, Bioflu, Skelan, Kremil S, Qinolon, Disudrin, Decilone, Neo-Pyrazon, Ceelin, Enervon-C, Revicon at Myra-E.
“Besides ripping off consumers, the criminals behind these fake drugs also cheat the government of tax income. They should be apprehended, prosecuted and put behind bars,” ani Gullas.
Sinabi ni Gullas na dapat ding kumilos ang Bureau of Food and Drugs upang maparusahan ang mga pharmacy na nagbebenta ng pekeng gamot.
