Matapos na simulan ang torneo sa kartang 3-1 ay biglang inalat ang Talk ‘N Text at nakalasap ng apat na sunod na kabiguan upang bumagsak sa 3-5.

Ang Tropang Texters ay nabigo sa Globalport (123-120), Meralco (119-85), Rain or Shine (88-73) at San Miguel Beer (101-96).

Ang pagkatalo sa Beermen ay masaklap dahil sa nakalamang ang Tropang Texters ng 17 puntos sa first half subalit tumukod.

Ang Blackwater ay nangungulelat sa kartang 1-6. Hindi makakasama ng Elite ang import na si Marcus Douthit na naglalaro sa Philippine team sa kasalukuyang Singapore Southeast Asian Games.

Kinuha ng Elite bilang kapalit si Marcus Cousin, isang 6-foot-11 sentro na naglaro sa Kyoto Hannaryz sa Japan kung saan nag-average siya ng 14.5 puntos at 9.7 rebounds sa 57 games.

Makakatapat niya si Steffphon Pettigrew na susuportahan nina Sam Daghles, Jayson Castro, Ranidel de Ocampo, Kelly Williams at Larry Fonacier.

Ang NLEX ay may 2-6 record at galing sa back-to-back na pagkatalo sa San Miguel Beer (96-92) at Rain or Shine (106-102).
