Judo isinama ng PSC sa listahan ng priority sports
MATAPOS ipasok ang chess, ang judo ang isinama pa sa talaan ng priority sports na tututukan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) para sa hangaring tagumpay sa malalaking kompetisyon sa labas ng bansa.
“Judo is in and will take the place of swimming, which was earlier removed from the list,” wika ni PSC chairman Ricardo Garcia.
Ang pagsama ng judo ang nagkumpleto sa 10 sports na nasa listahan. Ang chess ay kapalit ng tinanggal na weightlifting upang isama sa athletics, archery, boxing, billiards, bowling, taekwondo, wushu at wrestling.
Ipinagmalaki pa ni Garcia na tama ang mga sports na naunang pinili dahil ang mga ito ang naghatid ng medalya sa 17th Asian Games sa Incheon, South Korea.
“Except for BMX cycling, most of the medalists in the last Asian Games came from sports that are part of the priority list. That is why I think we are on the right track specially with the forthcoming SEA Games,” dagdag ni Garcia.
