Ginebra, San Mig target ang krusyal na panalo

NGAYONG tabla ang kanilang PLDT myDSL PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series sa best-of-three, mag-uunahan ang Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at San Mig Coffee sa bentahe sa paghaharap nila sa Game Five mamayang alas-3:30 ng hapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Cubao, Quezon City.

Ang magwawagi sa laro mamaya ay puwedeng umusad sa best-of-seven championship round sa pamamagitan ng isa pang panalo sa Lunes.

Nabura ang 16-puntos na abante ng Gin Kings sa third quarter subalit nagawa pa rin nilang makuha ang endgame breaks at magwagi sa  Game Four, 85-82, noong Miyerkules upang itabla ang serye sa 2-all.

Nanalo rin ang Gin Kings sa Game Two, 93-64. Ninakaw ng San Mig Coffee ang Game One, 85-83, sa kabayanihan ni Mark Barroca at pagkatapos ay nakaulit sa Game Three, 97-89.

“We controlled the tempo of the match at the start. But when San Mig started pressing, we committed a lot of mistakes and they were able to come back,” ani Barangay Ginebra coach Renato Agustin.

Ang Gin Kings ay nakalamang, 70-64, sa dulong third quarter subalit natahimik. Nagsagawa ng 18-0 atake ang Mixers
upang makuha ang abante, 72-70, sa kalagitnaan ng fourth quarter.

Puwede sanang nakaangat na ang San Mig Coffee sa serye, 3-1, subalit nagmintis sa kanilang mga free throws ang rookie na si Ian Sangalang at two-time Most Valuable Player James Yap sa dulo ng laro.

Nabigo rin si Yap na mapuwersa ang overtime nang pumalya ang kanyang three-point attempt sabay sa pagtunog ng final buzzer.
