HINDI araw-araw ay makikita mong isang fan ang singer-actress na si Sharon Cuneta, ang Megastar ng Pilipinas.
Super-kilig daw si Mega nang isama siya ng kanyang anak na si KC Concepcion sa gala fund raising dinner ng ika-10 anibersaryo ng William J. Clinton Foundation sa Hollywood Palladium sa Los Angeles noong Oktubre 13.
Naalala ni Sharon na noong si KC ay ambassador to the UN World Food Program ay nakilala niya si dating US president sa Clinton Global Initiative event sa Hong Kong, tatlong taon na ang nakakaraan.
Nang maimbitahan sila sa LA party, sinabihan ni KC ang kanyang ina na maging kanyang “plus one.”
Proud kay KC
Sinabi ni Mega na “especially proud” siya kay KC at isang “honor to meet a former US president, especially because I’ve been a Bill Clinton admirer since our days in Boston (kasama ang kanyang mister na si Sen. Francis Pangilinan, na nag-aral sa Harvard mula 1996-1997).” Marami na umano siyang nabasang libro ni Clinton.
“KC reminded him of their meeting in Hong Kong. Napa-kabait” ani Mega. “After KC introduced me to him, he got our camera and said: ‘Let John (isa sa kanyang mga aides) take it.’ Ang cute!”
Bilang bonus, nag-enjoy si Sharon na makita ang mga tanyag na taong dumalo sa pagtitipon.
“(Singer-actress) Barbra Streisand and husband James Brolin, with designer Donna Karan, were two tables away from us,” ala-ala ni Sharon. “I got to talk to Barbara. Of course, Hillary Clinton, her daughter Chelsea and Chelsea’s husband, Marc Mezvinsky, were there, too.”
Nakita rin ni Mega sina Jane Fonda, Edward James Olmos, Chevy Chase (na siyang host ng event), Roma Downey at Patricia Arquette, na kapatid ni Rosanna Arquette.
“I told Patricia that I watched all the seasons of (the TV series) ‘Medium’ and she was so sweet,” ani Sharon.
Naroon din ang paborito ni Sharon na si Julie Benz. “She played Rita, wife of serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) in one of my favorite TV shows, ‘Dexter.’”
Nalaman ni Sharon na ang aktres na si Jessica Alba ay naroon din. “But I didn’t get to see her. Among the performers at the dinner were Jerry Lee Lewis and Stevie Nicks.”
Matapos na makita ang mga malalaking artista, nagdesisyon si Sharon na huwag nang pumunta sa birthday concert ni Clinton na may titulong “A Decade of Difference,” sa Hollywood Bowl ng sumunod na gabi.
“KC watched the show,” ani Sharon. “Among the performers were Usher, Lady Gaga, Bono, while two of the presenters were Ellen Degeneres and Ashton Kutcher.”
Hindi maikakaila na naging matagumpay ang unique “bonding time” ng mag-ina sa Estados Unidos.—Inquirer
