AKALA mo ba tapos na ang laban pagdating sa Pinoy desserts? Aba, nagkakamali ka!

Sa ikalawang edisyon ng “Taste of the Philippines: A Global Culinary Journey,” babandera ang ilang classic Filipino sweets na mas sosyal, mas bongga at mas patok sa panlasa.

gamit ang modernong teknik at contemporary American innovation, nagsanib-pwersa sina Chef Jac Laudico at Chef Abi Balingit, na isang New York-based baker at 2024 James Beard Emerging Voice Award winner.

Kamakailan lang, naimbitahan ang BANDERA sa media launch ng nasabing ganap at doon namin natikman ang ipinagmamalaking panghimagas ng dalawang sikat na chefs!

Grabe, napakasarap ng ginawa nilang kombinasyon kagaya ng Maja Blanca Cheesecake, Ube Cheese Crinkles, Halo-Halo Baked Alaska, Adobo Chocolate Chip Cookies, at Thai Tea Kutsinta.

Ang personal favorite ko nga riyan ay ‘yung Maja Blanca Cheesecake at Thai Tea Kutsinta na talagang ilang beses kong binalikan!

Ang good news pa riyan, pwedeng matikman ang mga nabanggit kong desserts sa buffet selection ng Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico sa buong buwan ng Marso!

“This collaboration will highlight Abi’s unique approach to Filipino-American desserts into Guevarra’s traditional Filipino menu,” sey ni Chef Jac.

“The dishes showcased, which are featured in Abi’s James Beard-awarded book, reflect a fresh and exciting take on Filipino flavors. We’re thrilled to have these desserts as part of our offering,” dagdag pa niya na tinutukoy ang cookbook ni Chef Abi na “Mayumu: Filipino American Desserts Remixed.”

“Yeah, we actually try to work whenever they plan to go home. So it’s still hush hush, but we have things planned by April or May—chefs from Italy and also in Melbourne,” pagbabahagi niya.

Para sa kaalaman ng marami, ang “Taste of the Philippines: A Global Culinary Journey” ay isang patuloy na serye ng food talks, cooking demos, Q&A sessions, at tastings na layong ipalaganap ang Filipino talent at pagmamahal sa mga pagkaing sariling atin. 

Samantala, ang Guevarra’s ay hindi lang kilala sa Pinoy desserts, ang pinupuntahan din sa buffet ni Chefs Roland at Jackie Laudico ay ang legendary Angus Beef Tapa, Bellychon, Grilled Pancit Bam-I, Party Spaghetti, at marami pang iba.
