Bagyong Leon lalakas pa, itinaas ang Signal No. 1 sa bahagi ng Luzon
INAASAHANG lalakas pa ngayong araw, October 28, ang bagyong Leon.
Ayon sa 5 a.m. weather bulletin ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), “This tropical cyclone is expected to gradually intensify in the next 24 hours and may reach severe tropical storm category by this afternoon.”
“This tropical cyclone may also undergo rapid intensification,” babala pa ng ahensya.
Ang bagyo ay huling namataan 8,400 kilometers silangan ng Central Luzon.
Taglay nito ang lakas na hanging 85 kilometers per hour malapit sa gitna at bugsong aabot sa 105 kilometers per hour.

Ayon sa weather bureau, ang weather disturbance ay posibleng lumabas na ng bansa sa darating na Friday, November 1.
“On the track forecast, LEON may pass closely over Batanes area by Wednesday (Oct. 30) or Thursday (Oct. 31),” saad ng PAGASA.
Samantala, nakataas ang Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 sa ilang lugar sa Luzon.
Kabilang na riyan ang eastern portion ng mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Baggao, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, Peñablanca), eastern portion ng Isabela (Maconacon, Divilacan, Ilagan City, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Palanan, San Mariano, Dinapigue), at northeastern portion ng Catanduanes (Pandan, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga).
Para sa araw na ito, October 28, asahan ang scattered rains sa Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Zamboanga del Norte, Surigao del Norte, at Dinagat Islands dahil sa “trough” o buntot ng bagyo.
Mararanasan naman ang isolated rainshowers sa Metro Manila at ang natitirang bahagi ng bansa dulot ng localized thunderstorms.
