Marjorie sa pagbabalik-politika: ‘I’ve gained a renewed sense of purpose!’

MAKALIPAS ang sampung taon, magbabalik sa paglilingkod sa publiko ang batikang aktres na si Marjorie Barretto.
Sa Instagram, proud na ibinandera ni Marjorie ang kanyang pagtakbo sa 2025 midterm elections.
Noong October 5 siya nagsumite ng certificate of candidacy (CoC) para sa posisyong city councilor ng Caloocan.
Inamin ng aktres na ilang buwan niya ring ipinagdasal at pinag-isipang mabuti ang muling pagsabak na ito sa gobyerno.
“After a lot of thought, prayers and clear signs, I filed my COC for City Councilor under #TeamAksyonAtMalasakit,” bungad niya sa caption.
Patuloy ni Marjorie, “These past few months has been quite a journey…the thought of going back to public service after more than 10 years has been challenging, terrifying and exciting.”
“Grateful to Mayor Along Malapitan and Congressman Oca Malapitan for their trust and confidence in me,” wika niya sa IG.
“I have gained a renewed sense of purpose [orange heart emojis].”

Makikita sa comment section na all out support ang isa niyang anak na si Dani.
“Behind you all the way! [holding back tears emoji],” lahad niya.
Reply naman diyan ng veteran actress, “Thank you, Dan [emoji] Love you”
May ilang kapwa celebrities din ang nagpakita ng suporta para kay Marjorie, kabilang na riyan sina Mariel Rodriguez, Aiko Melendez, Arlene Muhlach, Candy Pangilinan, at marami pang iba.
“Yay!!! Finally [red heart emoji] Congratulations [smiling face with heart eyes emoji],” sambit ni Aiko.
Komento ni Mariel, “Sooooo proud of you mommy Marj!!! If I were registered in Caloocan I would DEFINITELY vote for you!!! In a heartbeat [red heart emoji] supporting you and praying for you mommy Marj!!!!”
Kung matatandaan, 1990s pa nang pasukin ni Marjorie ang entertainment industry at late 2000s naman nang lumipat siya sa pamumulitika.
Siya ay nagserbisyo sa local government bilang konsehal at city councilor ng Caloocan.
Nanilbihan na rin siya bilang representative ng 2nd district of Caloocan mula 2007 hanggang 2013.
Pagkatapos niyan ay mas pinili niyang magkaroon ng pribadong buhay kasama ang kanyang mga anak.
