KINORONAHAN ng Kapuso star at beauty queen na si Michelle Dee ang kanyang idol at itinuturing ding “hero” na si Apo Whang-od.
Bago matapos ang kanyang reign bilang Miss Universe Philippines 2023 ay personal ngang pinuntahan at binisita ni Michelle ang “oldest and last mambabatok” sa Buscalan, Kalinga.

Naging malaking bahagi si Apo Whang-od sa journey ni Michelle sa paglaban sa Miss Universe 2023. Ilan sa mga ginamit niyang gown sa naturang international pageant at sa kanyang homecoming ay inspired by Apo Whang-od.

Tinawag pa nga ng dalaga ang living legend na mambabatok bilang “amazing symbol of cultural preservation” at kung mabubuhay daw siya uli sa ibang panahon, gusto niyang maging si Apo Whang-od.
Bukod sa pagpuputong ng korona, binigyan din ni Michelle si Apo Whang-od ng jersey na may nakasulat na “Filipinas 2023” sa harap at ang initials niyang “MMD” sa likod nito.
Natupad din ang pangarap ng Kapuso actress na matatuan ni Apo Whang Od. Aniya sa caption ng kanyang Instagram photo, “A Philippine legend and National Treasure. Forever inked on my body and in my heart.”
