Director-playwright Floy Quintos pumanaw sa ‘heart attack’

PUMANAW na ang award-winning director at playwright na si Floy Quintos sa edad na 63.
Ang malungkot na balita ay ibinandera ng kanyang kaanak na si Celina Quintos sa pamamagitan ng Facebook.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I, on behalf of my family, announce that Floy Quintos, esteemed playwright and director, but more importantly beloved brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, has returned to the arms of the Lord,” caption sa post, kalakip ang black and white picture ng sikat na direktor.
Kwento ng pamangkin, sumakabilang-buhay si Direk Floy kaninang umaga, April 27, dahil sa atake sa puso at habang nasa emergency room.
Kasalukuyan na raw inaayos ng pamilya ang burol na paglalagakan ng mga labi ng award-winning filmmaker sa Arlington Memorial Chapels sa Quezon City.

Mensahe pa niya, “Floy Quintos was a beacon of Philippine culture and the arts, but also shone so much firelight for the people closest to him. The country, the world, and our home are much darker with this light snuffed out too soon.”

Para sa kaalaman ng marami, si Direk Floy ay isang Palanca award-winning na playwright, direktor, scriptwriter at makata.
Kilala siya sa kanyang mga dula at musicals kabilang na ang “The Kundiman Party,” “Angry Christ,” “Fluid,” at “The Reconciliation Dinner.”
Ang pinakabago niyang play ay ang “Grace” na mapapanood sa darating na May 25 hanggang June 16.
Ito ay inspired sa mga naging kaganapan kaugnay sa Mahal na Birhen na nasa monasteryo ng Carmelite sa Lipa, Batangas noong September 1948.
Maliban diyan ay sikat din siyang direktor sa dating showbiz talk show ng GMA-7 na “Startalk.”
Nagsilbi rin siyang writer ng mga pelikulang “Wating,” “Darna! Ang Pagbabalik” at “Koronang Itim” na lahat ay pinalabas noong 1994.
