Moira dela Torre pumalag sa fake news: We need to do what’s right
PINALAGAN ng Cornerstone Entertainment na siyang namamahala ng karera ng singer/songwriter na si Moira dela Torre ang kumakalat na quote card niya tungkol sa Shaira-Lenka issue.
May mga lumabas sa Tiktok na kinampihan daw ng “Malaya” singer si Lenka tungkol sa awiting “Selos” ni na siya mismo ang orihinal na kumanta na katunog naman ng awiting “Trouble is a Friend” ni Shaira.
Nag-viral ang pahayag na ito ni Moira kaya’t kinurek ito ng Cornerstone na peke ito at walang sinabi ang mang-aawit tungkol dito.
Base sa post sa Instagram account ng Cornerstone, “We ask the public to refrain from sharing the fake Moira quote that is currently circulating on social media.”
Ang pekeng quote ni Moira na kumakalat sa socmed ay:
“FYI guys, si Lenka po ang original na kumanta hindi po si Shaira tempered glass, bakit ang hilig niyo i-tolerate yung mali?! Alam niyo ng mali yun pa yung pinapanigan niyo, kung tayo nga nagagalit na inaangkin ng ibang bansa yung lugar natin, diba so dapat nakaka-relate tayo kay Lenka, pero bakit ang ending si Shaira ang tama at yung original ang mali.”

Halatang mali ang info kasi ang tunay na kumanta ng “Selos” ay si Shaira na katunog naman ng awiting “Trouble with a Friend” ay si Lenka.
Ang official statement ni Moira:
“We just really need to do what’s right and to credit the people that need to be credited. Madami po kasing hindi din educated sa…sa mga copyright. My advice for people who want to take on…to take on this industry is really just be always willing to listen, always willing to learn.”
“Marami sa mga singer ay malaki ang impluwensiya kaya dapat lang silang maging responsable. At kung gagamit man ng ibang awitin, dapat pa rin daw respetuhin ang karapatan ng original singer.”
“We at Cornerstone Entertainment ask the public to refrain from sharing the fake quote and to be wary of any post that seeks to misrepresent the singer-songwriter’s true sentiments regarding any issue or topic of public discussion.”
May mga nabasa kaming komento mula sa netizens na nagsabing mabuti at nakialam na ang management company ni Moira tungkol sa isyung ito.
“Omg finally the management taking action.”
Mula kay wayniedumpie, “more better if malalaman sino yung may ari ng mga pages na ‘yan.
Sabi rin ni janienadine, “So nice for CS speaking up but yes I hope masabihan sila through statements knowing pages naman gamit nila when posting, meron pa nga yung isang post- may nearly 20k likes na and 12k comments. It shows how controversial the issue is and you know how people would throw her under the bus kasi hati naman ang Lenka supporters sa Shaira supporters.
Mula kay lattegirv, I hope those pages would take those posts down since kalat na din and super dami din nilang na-gain na likes and comments from being clout chasers and using Moira’s name. Very alarming. It could you know make Moira the subject for hate and bad criticisms especially when the copyright issue is controversial.”
