“It is through the deepest sufferings that God has taught me the deepest lessons. Suffering is never for nothing. — Elisabeth Elliot,” ang simulang pagbabahagi ng Kapamilya actress.

Pagpapatuloy ni Maxene, “I watched the film ‘The Passion of the Christ’ directed by Mel Gibson as this was a Holy Week tradition that my parents did with us so that we could have a better understanding of what happened to Jesus Christ and why we even observe the lenten season in the first place.

“I used to find it difficult and boring to watch but now, at my current age, I understand it much better,” ang pag-amin ng anak ng yumaong Master Rapper na si Francis Magalona at ng biyuda nitong si Pia Magalona.

“Seeing what Christ had to go through made me fully realize that suffering is something that we must endure as humans.

“Not once did he complain when he was being tortured and ridiculed. When I was much younger, I used to whine a lot whenever I was going through a challenging time.

“One of the most important life lessons I’ve learned is that we were not put on this earth to just be happy and enjoy worldly pleasures all the time,” ang punto pa ng aktres.

Naniniwala rin siya ngayon na, “We are here to do the work that is needed to find out who we really are and fulfill our life purpose.

“The work that we were sent here to do includes our suffering. If we can accept that pain is a natural part of life and allow it to help us grow through what we are going through, then we would learn the lessons and gain the wisdom that we are meant to receive.

“Jesus died on the cross to sacrifice himself for our sins. I believe the best way that we can honor his death is by repenting and reflecting during Holy Week.

“A time for honest and sincere reflection so that we can check and see if we are still on the path of righteousness and not allowing the distractions of this world to lead us astray.
