TAPE Inc. tuloy sa paggamit ng ‘Eat Bulaga’ habang umaapela sa IPO
TULOY pa rin ang paggamit ng TAPE Inc. sa titulong “Eat Bulaga” sa kabila ng pagkakakansela ng Intellectual Property Office ng kanilang trademark registration.
Matatandaang nitong Martes, December 5 nang ilabas ni Atty. Josephine Alon, Adjudication Officer ng Bureau of Legal Affairs ng IPO, and desisyon atnabatid na hindi napatunayan ng produksyon kung paano nila nabuo ang “Eat Bulaga” mark.
Ayon kay Atty. Maggie Garduque na kanilang legal counsel, nirirespeto nila ang batas kaya naman susunod sila sa procedure.
Matapos kasi ang inilabas na desisyon ng adjudication officer ng IPO ay mayroon pa rin silang 15 days para umapela sa naging desisyon.
“As confirmed by the statement released by IPO today, TAPE has a period of 15 days to appeal the decision of the adjudication officer to the Director of the BLA-IPO. Then, appealed decisions may still be appealed to the Director General of IPO within 30 days,” saad ni Atty. Maggie.
Matatandaang kahapon lang nang magsagawa ng press conference sina Tito, Vic, at Joey kasama ang iba pang dabarkadz ng media conference matapos ang naging desisyon ng IPO.

Sinabi naman ng trio at ng kanilang abogado na si Atty. Enrique dela Cruz na sana raw ay respetuhin ng TAPE ang desisyong ng IPO at itigil na ang paggamit ng “Eat Bulaga”.
Natanong rin kasi ang TVJ kung kailan nito planong gamitin ang naturang titulo sa kanilang show ngayong na-recognize na rin ng batas na sila ang may-ari nito at sinabi nilang pag-uusapan pa nila ang kanilang susunod na mga hakbang.
Pero para sa TAPE, patuloy pa rin nilang gagamitin ang title habang inaantay ang desisyon sa kanilang apela.
Umaasa rin sila na habang nasa proseso pa ang kanilang motion for reconsideration ay huwag munang gamitin ng TVJ ang “Eat Bulaga”.
“As regards the plea of TVJ not to use Eat Bulaga, TAPE will continue to use the name Eat Bulaga for its noontime show pending the appeals.
“The appeal will be considered moot and academic if it heeds to the plea of TVJ. In the same vein, TAPE likewise hopes that TVJ will not use Eat Bulaga pending the appeals in accordance with the law and rules and wait for the finality of the decision.”
