MATAPOS hulihin at arestuhin sa Maynila, nakatakda nang magpiyansa ang controversial drag performer na si Pura Luka Vega ngayong araw, October 5.
Ito ang kinumpirma mismo ng Manila Police District matapos makapanayam ng INQUIRER.net.
Ayon kay Police Staff Sergeant Neil Anthony Gabriel, kahapon sana aasikasuhin ng abogado ng drag queen ang kanyang paglaya kaso late nang inaresto si Pura Luka at hindi na naabutan ang korte.
“Sarado na ang court kaya babalik nalang daw bukas ang lawyer niya para maasikaso na yung bail nya,” sey ni Gabriel.
Magugunitang dakong 4:30 p.m. ng October 4 nang arestuhin ng mga awtoridad ang drag queen sa kanyang bahay sa Hizon Street, Barangay 339, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Base sa ulat, ang warrant of arrest laban kay Pura Luka ay inisyu ni Hon. Czarina Villanueva, ang presiding judge ng Manila- Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 36.
Ito’y para sa mga kasong Immoral Doctrines Obscene Publications and Exhibitions and Indecent Shows (2)(B)(3) AND (2)(3)(5) of Revised Penal Code Article 201 na may piyansang P72,000.

At dahil nag-overnight nga sa kulungan ang drag queen, nabanggit ni Police Major Billy Ray Canagan sa isang phone interview na isinama si Pura Luka kasama ng mga lalaking persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
Tiniyak din ni Canagan na hindi nila ito binigyan ng VIP treatment.
“No VIP (very important person) treatment here,” sambit ng police major sa INQUIRER.
Aniya pa, “He (Pura Luka) is being treated as an ordinary PDL, kasama niya ang ibang detainees.”
Nang tanungin naman siya patungkol sa naging aresto ni Pura Luka.
Ikinuwento ni Canagan na naging kalmado naman ang drag queen, pero paulit-ulit daw nito iginigiit na hindi krimen ang drag.
“He (Pura Luka) continues to argue that his drag performance was not meant to mock the Nazareno,” sey ng pulis.
Samantala, nagpaabot naman ng suporta ang ilang drag queens para kay Pura Luka.
Ilan lamang diyan ay sina Manila Luzon, Eva Le Queen, Dee Dee Marie Holliday, Corazon Filipinas, Hana Beshie and Shewarma.
Ayon sa kanila, “oppressive” at isang form ng “persecution” sa LGBTQIA+ community ang ginawang pag-aresto kay Pura Luka.

“Pura’s arrest is not justified. It is clearly persecution,” saad naman ni Dee Dee Marie Holliday sa isang tweet.
Dagdag pa niya, “It is also, possibly, a smokescreen to the controversies that the PH government is facing right now. The timing is sus.”
“Mas madali kasing pagbuntunan ng sisi kapag LGBT. Easier to demonize us,” ani pa niya.

“An attack to one of us is an attack to the [LGBTQIA+] community,” sambit naman sa post ni Corazon Filipinas.
Wika pa niya, “We were supposed to celebrate the crowning [‘Drag Race Philippines’] but one of us got arrested that same night!”
“Clearly, [the Philippine] government is diverting our attention away from more pressing national issues. WE WILL NOT BE MOVED,” caption pa niya.

Ang pagkakahuli kay Pura Luka ay nag-ugat sa kasong isinampa ng mga deboto ng Black Nazarene, ang “Hijos del Nazareno.”
Matatandaang nag-viral ang kanyang video na nagpe-perform gamit ang kantang “Ama Namin” na nakasuot ng damit ng Itim na Nazareno.
Lantarang kabastusan daw sa simbahan ang ginawa ni Pura Luka, ayon mismo sa ilang religious leaders kaya dapat siyang maparusahan.
