Lala Sotto umalma sa mga pambabatikos na natatanggap: Being a Sotto or my father’s daughter should not be taken against me
PUMALAG si Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Lala Sotto sa mga taong bumabatikos sa kanya dahil sa kanyang pagiging “Sotto”.
Marami kasi sa mga netizens ang tumutuligsa sa kanya at nagpapa-resign sa kanyang pwesto bilang MTRCB chair dahil sa diumano’y unfair at hindi makatarungang pagtrato nito sa mga noontime programs.
Si Lala ay anak ng dating senador at kasalukuyang “E.A.T.” host na si Tito Sotto.
Sa nagdaang press conference ng MTRCB nitong Huwebes, September 28, natanong siya ukol sa pag-iisip ng tao na may “conflict of interest” ang desisyon ng ahensya dahil anak siya ng isa sa mga hosts ng kakumpitensyang programa ng “It’s Showtime”.
Kahit kasi nauna nang inihayag ni Lala na nag-inhibit o hindi siya sumali sa botohan ng board ukol sa pagpapataw ng suspensiyon sa Kapamilya noontime program at wala siyang kinalaman sa naging proseso ng board para sa transparency at fairness ay marami pa rin ang naiimbyerna sa kanya.
At nang ilabas nga ang MTRCB ang resolution ng pagdedenay nila sa inihaing apela ng “It’s Showtime” ay mas marami pang nainis at nagsabing magbitiw na siya sa pwesto.

“I truly believe my being a Sotto or my father’s daughter should not be taken against me. Instead, it should even be taken positively, that I am someone who grew up in the industry. I am someone who loves the industry and understands the industry,” saad ni Lala.
Dagdag pa niya, “I really believe that we should respect others’ opinions also. That’s their opinion. There’s nothing I can do. I am just doing my job humbly and justly,” dagdag pa niya.
Nagpapasalamat naman si Lala na inihanda raw siya ng Panginoon kung paano i-handle ang kanyang “detractors” at sanay na siya sa mga pamba-bash na natatanggap.
“I really believe that the Lord prepared me for this because I grew up in public scrutiny. I saw my parents always talked about. I would read about my father, or my titos, and family all the time in the papers,” sey ni Lala.
Dugtong pa niya, “Bashing is not new to us, to me. You all know what they’ve said about my father in the past. I thank God I am unbothered.”
