Ice Seguerra patuloy na iniinsulto, binabastos dahil sa pagiging transman: ‘But we will fight ’till we get our place in the sun’

HANGGANG ngayon pala ay nakakatanggap pa rin ang OPM icon na si Ice Seguerra ng masasakit na salita mula sa mga bashers sa social media dahil sa pagiging transman.
Ilang taon na ring namumuhay ngayon ang award-winning singer-songwriter bilang proud member ng LGBTQIA+ community, ngunit may mga tao pa ring hindi tanggap ang kanyang tunay na pagkatao.
Ayon kay Ice, nalulungkot siya dahil may mga Filipino pa rin na hinuhusgahan ang mga tulad niya base sa kung ano ang nasa pagitan ng kanilang mga hita hindi sa kakayahan nilang magmahal.
Sa kanyang Instagram account, nagbahagi ang asawa ni Liza Diño ng kanyang saloobin hinggil sa nararanasang pamba-bash at pambu-bully sa kanya online.

“It’s sad to think that we are still judged not by our ability to love but by what’s between our legs.
“Society can quickly diminish a beautiful relationship simply because we are different,” simulang pagbabahagi ni Ice na isa na ring direktor ngayon.
Aniya pa, “Coming out as a transman, I knew I would get a lot of hate. It’s as if my coming out also gave people a license to insult my character and, worse, the people I love.
“I’ve dealt with these people ever since I can remember. Bigotry and homophobic slurs are part of my daily life.

“One can never get used to it, but if that’s the price I have to pay to live my truth, then so be it. But when my family is dragged into this, it is painful,” mensahe pa ng singer-actor.
Aniya pa, “This is the life of a person and families in the LGBTQIA+ community. We must constantly prove ourselves and go above and beyond to be ‘worthy’ of society’s acceptance.

“Never mind if we’re good people, they will reduce us to nothing to prove they are ‘right’ about who they think we are.
“People hate what they don’t understand, and it’s probably why it’s so easy for them to hate us. But we’re not backing down, and we will fight till we get our place in the sun,” pahayag pa ni Ice.
Nagbigay din siya ng madamdaming mensahe sa kanyang wifey at sa iba pang miyembro ng kanilang pamilya.
“To my wife, daughter, mama, brother, friends, and allies, thank you for loving me enough to withstand all the hurtful things they say about us.
“Thank you for holding the fort and being my sanctuary when it becomes too much. YOU MAKE ME BELIEVE THAT LOVE WILL ALWAYS WIN,” sabi pa ni Ice.
