Former PBA top rookie Boybits Victoria pumanaw sa edad na 50
NAMAYAPA na ang Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) top rookie na si Boybits Victoria nitong Miyerkules, March 1, matapos itong atakihin sa puso.
Ito ay mismong kinumpirma ng kanyang anak na si Nathan sa kanyang social media account.
Ayon sa anak ni Boybits, nagkaroon ng acute myocardial infarction ang ama at tuluyang binawiab ng buhay noong 6:55pm habang naka-confine sa San Juan de Dios Manila.
Bago pa man ang kanyang pagkamatay ay na-diagnose na noong 2018 ang basketbolista ng isang autoimmune disorder ngunit naging maayos naman ang lagay nito habang nasa ospital.
Matatandaang si Boybits ang napili bilang third overall ng Swift noong 1994 PBA Rookie Draft at hinirang na PBA Rookie of the Year.
Nagtagal pa siya ng tatlo pang seasons bago ito tuluyang lumipat sa San Miguel noong 1999 bilang backup point guard kay Olsen Racela.
Nagkamit rin si Boybits ng pitong championships. Lima ay mula sa San Miguel Beermen mula 1999 hanggang 2001.
Bumuhos naman ang mensahe ng pakikiramay sa social media mula sa kanyang mga kaibigan, kasamahan, kaanak, at mga tagahanga.
“I love you, daddy. Say hi to superfriend for me and dodong. It’s always gonna be us three against the world,” ayon sa post ng anak niyang si Ciaz.
“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Boybits Victoria. An incredible 6th man for our SMB teams. I will always remember him as a humble and unselfish person. Grateful and honored to have been a part of his life and career. Rest now our dear Boybits,” saad ni Jong Uichico sa kanyang tweet.
Nag-post rin ang magkapatid na Ciaz at Nathan patungkol sa detalye ng burol ng ama.
“To those who wish to see him, his viewing will be at Loyola Memorial Chapels and Crematorium, Sucat from March 2, Thursday around 10am to March 5, Sunday around 10am. His cremation will be on March 5, Sunday at 11am also to be held at Loyola Memorial Chapels and Crematorium, Sucat,” saad nila gamit ang Facebook account ng ama.
