Ang naging topic sa latest podcast na Updated with Nelson Canlas ay “How Pinoy is our Queen.”
“My Father’s from the Philippines. So I grew up on a lot of family gatherings and you know, we have the lechon at the table and every time we have a birthday, my family will get together.,” sey ni R’Bonney.
Kwento niya, “I have a big Filipino family in Texas and in California. My titos and titas are always funny, you know, Filipinos are always joking, always happy and bring so much joy. So I grew up with those traditions.”
“I’m only half. My Filipino family maybe jokes with me sometimes because I don’t know everything or I can’t speak too much Tagalog,” saad niya.
“But it will always be a joke if I don’t know something but they teach me some things growing up, like how to eat or foods to try even,” saad ng beauty queen.
“For me, I really love Filipino food, but I don’t eat meat. So I’m big on the bakery sweets. So I’m about to introduce people to mamon or ensaymada,” chika niya.
Kwento ng Miss Universe, “I was able to go every couple of years in summer time. The last time I was there was in 2018, so it’ been a while and I would love to go back…I’m hoping we can make it happen this year.”
Saad niya, “Well, I moved directly to New York the day after winning. It was very fast and now I’ve been here in New York for a couple weeks now and a lot has changed.”
Dagdag pa niya, “I’m still adjusting to everything. I’m really busy doing interviews and it’s great to have a team now to work with, that helps manage me.
“I’m definitely a lot busier than ever and I had a lot more exposure. This is a huge platform and opportunity. So I’m looking forward to the year to see all the opportunities that it may bring,” aniya.
