HINIRANG bilang kauna-unahang Lueur Lauren Calendar Girl ang gurong si Johansson Ver sa isang patimpalak na isinagawa sa pagdiriwang ng ikatlong anibersaryo ng kumpanya sa SM Skydome sa Quezon City noong Enero 31.

Dinaig niya ang 10 iba pang kandidata sa patimpalak, kung saan tinanggap din niya ang mga parangal bilang Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, at Best in Talent.

Nagtapos naman bilang first runner-up si Estephanie Ladignon mula Ilocos Norte, na naunang nang hinirang bilang Miss Personality. Second runner-up si Danica Mojica mula Cebu.

Sa huling yugto ng patimpalak, tinanong ni reigning Miss Global Shane Tormes si Ver kung anong beauty product kaya siya kung magiging beauty product siya.

“I would be sunscreen, because sunscreen brings protection for our skin so that we won’t be harmed by the sun. And when we say protection, it’s very close to my heart, because I’m a licensed professional teacher, and I have students, and inside the four corners of my classroom I want to protect them. And I’ve always wanted to protect them,” tugon ni Ver.

“Aside from protecting them, I’ve always taught them about the true value of education, that education is not just the key to success but also a ticket to a better and brighter future…And I do believe that education is forever and it should have no boundaries, and it should have no ending,” dinagdag pa niya.

Sinabi rin ni Ver sa Inquirer makaraang makoronahan na sinusubaybayan na niya si Tormes mula Binibining Pilipinas pa lang, hanggang sa maging kauna-unahang Pilipinang itinanghal bilang Miss Global.

“Drinowing ko si Shane dati, at shinare niya sa stories. Hindi ko alam kung naaalala pa niya ako,” ibinahagi ni Ver shared. Kabilang sa mga inampalan sa patimpalak si Tormes, kasama si 2019 Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental at ngayon ay Net25 news anchor na si Emma Tiglao, na idolo rin umano ng bagong reyna.

Sinabi ni Ver na nais niyang matutunan ng mga mag-aaral niya sa Ramon Avanceña High School na magtiwala sa sarili sa pamamagitan ng pagkakapanalo niya. “Work hard for the things that you want. You cannot just want something, you have to work hard for it, you have to prepare for it, and pray to God,” aniya.

Ang Lueur Lauren Calendar Girl search ang unang nationwide pageant na sinalihan ni Ver. Kinoronahan siyang Miss Universidad de Manila at Miss University Belt noong 2022.

Sinabi ni Lueur Lauren General Manager Niña Corazon Alvarado na buong taong magiging “ambassador” ng kumpanya si Ver. “She’ll be traveling with us, and then all the products that we will launch in the future, she’ll be the model. She’ll be with us all throughout,” anang opisyal.
