Sponge Cola 20 years na, naglabas ng kanta na inspired sa K-drama ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’
NAGDIWANG ng ika-20th anniversary bilang grupo ang OPM band na “Sponge Cola.”
Kasabay niyan ay naglabas sila ng bagong kanta na pinamagatang “Hometown” under Sony Music Entertainment.
Ayon pa sa grupo, ang awitin ay inspired sa hit Korean drama series na “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
Ang bagong kanta ay isinulat mismo ng bokalista ng banda na si Yael Yuzon at nasabi nga niya na kahit siya ay nagulat sa kinalabasan ng musika.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome given that it was written about a fictional piece,” Sey ni Yael.
Patuloy pa niya, “As a writer, I was one layer away from phenomena that should have made the end product more removed, disconnected.
“Instead, we ended up with something more visceral, something that resonates from within.”
Samantala, inilarawan naman ng bassist na si Gosh Dilay ang kanta bilang, “feels like traveling to unfamiliar places, but still ends up unwinding and wanting to go home.”
Matatandaan noong nakaraang taon nang unang ibinunyag ni Yael na may ilalabas silang bagong kanta na inspired sa isang K-drama.
