Si Albie ang maswerteng napili para maging co-host ng “Top Class: The Rise To P-Pop Stardom”, the newest and biggest P- Pop talent search in the Philippines.

Base sa isang health website, “Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). Also called reading disability, dyslexia affects areas of the brain that process language.”

“I have been acting for 12 years and my handlers have been telling me to try hosting. Sinasabi nila sa akin lagi, I can be good at it. But it has always scared me because I’m dyslexic,” pahayag ni Albie sa virtual mediacon ng Cornerstone para ipakilala sila ni Yukii bilang co-host ng “Top Class: The Rise to P-Pop Stardom.”

It’s especially hard when I have to read names or usernames. When you have to do spiels, sometimes you need only the gist or thought, you don’t necessarily have to say them word for word. But you have to get the names right, so it was hard.”

“And you don’t get second takes lalo na kapag live show.

“I always tell people that I don’t think of these as handicaps. Ha-hahaha! Na normal ako. I always tell people who suffer from ADHD or dyslexia that these things are not hindrances, think of it as superpowers.

“We have so much energy and we can use that for lots of things. We just have to focus. Yun talaga ang pinakamahirap sa may dyslexia. Like now, I’m doing an interview, but other things are coming to my mind, like going to the gym, going live on Kumu,” pahayag ng binata.

Pagpapatuloy pa niya, “Doing a podcast is different because it’s just you having a conversation with a camera on. Hosting has spiels and a specific agenda, there are certain things you have to say.

“It’s a balance of being yourself and injecting our personality into the script. However, I do think that doing podcasts helped, in a sense that you get less conscious of talking to people in front of a camera.

“In acting, you forget that there are cameras. In hosting, you’re constantly getting told which camera to look at,” sabi ni Albie.

Focus at practice ang dalawang magic words na palaging baon ng binata, “The more we do something, the more we get better. It’s about practice and focus.

“What I have realized is that if you put in the time and effort, you will eventually get better. I’m not saying I’m a good host now, but I can say that I’m capable now. And I will continue working to become a good one,” diin pa niya.

Paglalarawan naman niya sa pagiging host ng “Top Class”, “A dream come true. This is a big project, and I’m happy to be part of something that will help raise the Philippine flag.”

“Top Class” admissions were officially closed last April 30, with thousands of P-Pop aspirants from all across the country submitting their auditions through Kumu.

For this edition of the show, “Top Class” only admitted boys aged 16-26, with a talent for singing, rapping, or dancing. Only 30 aspirants will be admitted to be part of the first ever batch of trainees.

“Top Class” is a highly-anticipated P-Pop reality show competition made possible through the partnership of Filipino entertainment giants: Kumu, Cignal Entertainment, TV5, and Cornerstone Entertainment. NU Laguna will be the official venue partner.

Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan will be the vocal mentor, Rap Phenom Shanti Dope will be the rap mentor, and Internationally-renowned choreographer Brian Puspos will be the dance mentor.
