Jillian Robredo sinigawan habang nangangampanya sa Baguio City
USAP-USAPAN ngayon si Jillian Robredo, bunsong anak ni Vice President Leni Robredo matapos itong sigaw-sigawan habang nangangampanya sa Baguio Public Market kahapon, April 26.
Kalat na ngayon sa social media ang video clip kung saan isang hindi pa nakikilalang residente ng Baguio ang sumigaw ng “Dayuhan ka lang dito, Igorot kami!”
May mga nagsasabing kaya daw sumigaw ang nagtitinda palengke ay dahil na-provoke daw ito at sinungitan ni Jillian.
Agad namang nilinaw ng One Baguio Benguet-Robredo People’s Council ang kumakalat na isyu at sinabing walang katotohanan ang napapabalitang nagsungit and bunsong anak ni VP Leni Robredo habang nag-iikot sa Baguio Public Market.
“Jillian Robredo and the members and volunteers of the OBB-RPC went on a market walk to campaign for Vice President Leni Robredo. While the group was walking in the public market, an unknown individual started shouting at the group.”
Base sa pahayag ay sumigaw ito at sinabihan sila ng “Huwag kayong humarang!”
Sinubukan naman ng grupo na pakalmahin ito at humingi na rin ng paumanhin ang iba pang mga volunteers sa naging abala ngunit sa halip na tumigil ito ay nagpatuloy ito sa pagsigaw.
“Dayuhan ka lang dito, kami Igorot kami!” saad daw nito.
“Contrary to the comments on social media, the verbal attacked was unprovoked, and the edited/spliced videos that show otherwise do not indicate what truly happened.
“This unfortunate incident has put the people of Baguio, particularly the Igorots, in a bad light. It has given the impression that those who are not from the city are NOT welcome, when in fact Baguio is a tourist destination. The people of Baguio, regardless of what language they speak, have always been known as warm and welcoming to visitors. This individual’s unacceptable behavior should not be seen as the norm.”

Matapos raw ang insidente ay nagdesisyon na ang sina Jillian at ang buong grupo na huwag nang ituloy ang pangangampanya at umalis na lamang sa pampublikong palengke.
May isang tindero sa palengke raw na sumunod sa kanila at humingi ng paumanhin sa ginawa ng kanilang kababayan.
Hindi naman ito ang unang pagkakataon na may ganitong insidente dahil noon daw ay nangyari na rin ito kay Sen. Risa Hontiveros noong Disyembre 2021.
“It is unfortunate that it happened again to Ms. Jillian. The RPC house-to-house and Tao Sa Tao campaigns are done to engage all people kindly with an open heart, whether or not they support VP Leni.
“This was what Ms. Jillian was doing with our RPC volunteers. Contrary to the posts online, she and the volunteers did their best to approach market-goers without being a bother to others.
Bagamat naiintindihan ng kampo na may mga personal na ikinakampanya at sinusuportahan ang mga tao, mukhang ang nangyaring pagkalat ng edited/spliced video ay ginawa upang sirain ang pangangampanya ni VP Leni pero naniniwala sila na mas radikal ang magmahal.

“Hopefully, incidents like this will not make us lose heart. Let us stand firm because we have an important goal ahead of us — to earn back a government and country that will include everyone.
“Walang maiiwan. Tuloy pa rin tayo sa H2H. Patuloy pa rin tayong kumausap, umintindi, at tumayo sa kabutihan ng bawat isang nakakasalamuha natin dahil iisa lang ang gusto natin: pag-angat, sa tulong ng gobyernong para sa lahat.”
Sa kabila ng nangyaring insidente kay Jillian ay ipagpapatuloy pa rin daw ng kampo ang kanilang Grand Rally sa Mayo 2.
“We hope and pray that on that day, the people of the Cordilleras will come out to show who and what we really are — a warm, loving, and respectful people.”
