‘Carrot Man’ Jeyrick Sigmaton waging best actor sa New York-based filmfest

NAGDALA ng karangalan ang noo’y internet sensation na si Jeyrick Sigmaton o mas kilala bilang Carrot Man na Best Actor sa International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) sa New York.
Winner ito sa ipinamalas niyang husay sa pag-arte sa short film na “Dayas” na nagtatampok sa buhay ng small-scale miners sa Itogon, Benguet.
Sa pahayag na ipinost nito sa kanyang Instagram account, sinabing si Jeyrick ang kauna-unahang Cordilleran na nakapag-uwi ng nasabing parangal sa kasaysayan ng IFFM.
“DAYAS was chosen as an official selection of the Short film category where it competed against works of both new and upcoming directors as well as veteran directors with known actors all over the world,
“Gratefully, Dayas’ Jeyrick Sigmaton won as the Best Actor for the said category. Indeed, this is a win for Dayas and the whole cordillera.”
Truly, kahanga-hanga ang tagumpay na ito lalo pa’t pinatumba lang naman ni Carrot Man ang Amerikanong aktor na si Angelo Reyes (USA) ng pelikulang “21st Colonial.”

Sa isang video na naka-upload sa YouTube, ipinaabot naman ng direktor at writer ng short film na si direk Jianlin Floresca ang kanyang pasasalamat sa buong produksyon at sa chairman ng IFFM na si Luis Pedron.

Maliban kay Carrot Man, wagi rin ang beteranang si Janice de Belen bilang best actress para sa pelikulang “Wounded Blood”.
Bumuhos naman ang pagpupuri kay Jerick ng mga netizens sa pagkapanalo nito at humiling na magkaroon pa sana siya ng mas maraming projects.

Unang nakilala si Carrot Man sa viral photo habang may buhat-buhat na carrots sa Mountain Province. Bumandera na rin ito sa bilang model sa isang clothing line taong 2016.
