Talk show ni Ellen tatapusin na: It’s the start of a new chapter…

“IT’S just not a challenge anymore.” Ito ang isa sa mga nabanggit na rason ng multi-awarded TV host na si Ellen DeGeneres kung bakit magpapaalam na sa ere ang kanyang talk show.

Pormal nang inanunsyo ng produksyon na hindi na mapapanood ang “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” pagkatapos umere ang 19th season nito sa 2022.

Mismong si Ellen ang nagbahagi ng malungkot na balita na makalipas ang halos dalawang dekada at sandamakmak na awards, ay magpapaalam na siya at ang programa na naging bahagi na ng buhay ng kanyang mga tagasubaybay.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged, and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” aniya sa panayam ng The Hollywood Reporter.

Ang announcement ng pagtatapos ng talkshow ni Ellen ay nangyari isang taon makalipas ang sunud-sunod na kontrobersyang kinasangkutan ng TV host pati na ng kanyang programa.

Noong July, 2020, ilang empleyado ng “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” ang  nagreklamo sa kanilang “toxic workplace environment” sa programa kasabay ng issue ng “sexual misconduct and harassment” laban sa ilang top executives.

Nabalitang pinagtatanggal ang inireklamong executive producers ng show kasunod ng pagbabalik ng season 18 ng “Ellen” kung saan humingi ng paumanhin ang TV host sa lahat ng mga nangyari.

Paliwanag pa ni Ellen, “It almost impacted the show. It was very hurtful to me. I mean, very. But if I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn’t have come back this season.”

Samantala, ibinalita naman ni Ellen na excited na siya sa mga gagawin niyang projects sa 2022.

“A sitcom seems like a walk in the park compared to this, 180 shows a year.

“I don’t know if that’s really what I want to do next, but movies for sure. If there were a great role, I’d be able to do that,” kuwento pa ng award-winning TV host.

Ipalalabas na rin ang interview ni Ellen with Oprah Winfrey kung saan idinetalye nga niya ang pagtatapos ng kanyang talkshow.

At sa tanong kung humingi siya ng payo kay Oprah, “I haven’t asked her advice yet, but I’m sure she’s going to say exactly what my agent did: ‘Sit still for a while and figure it out.’

“But look at her. She stopped and she didn’t have to do anything again, and she’s done a tremendous amount since then.

“So, I don’t look at this as the end at all. It’s the start of a new chapter, and hopefully, my fans will go with me wherever I go,” paliwanag ni Ellen.
