Edward Barber palaban sa 2021: Kailangan kong sumugal ngayong taon…to jump, to take risks
KUNG may isang young actor ngayon na pwedeng-pwedeng sumunod sa mga yapak nina Luis Manzano at Robi Domingo pagdating sa pagho-host, yan ay walang iba kundi si Edward Barber.
Marami ang nagsasabi na mabigyan lang ng mas maraming exposure at hosting project ang ka-loveteam ni Maymay Entrata, maaari na siyang ihilera sa husay nina Luis at Robi.
Kaya naman sa nakaraang mediacon ng ABS-CBN para sa pagpirma uli niya ng exclusive contract sa Kapamilya Network with Maymay, natanong ang young actor-host kung nakikita ba niya ang sarili bilang next Luis Manzano o susunod na Robi Domingo.
“I’m flattered pero medyo malaking burden ‘yun ha. Those are big shoes to fill and I personally think iba rin ‘yung style ko than Robi and Sir Luis. I am not the same comedian that they are,” reaksyon ni Edward.
Aniya pa, nais pa niyang i-explore ang pagho-host para mas mahasa pa siya at inamin na marami pa siyang dapat patunayan para maabot ang kalahati man lang sa na-achieve ng dalawang Kapamilya host.
“I think I bring a different style to it. Iba ‘yung atake ko. But I’m really really excited to figure out who I am. I have the self-confidence pero hindi ko talaga alam paano mangyayari ‘yan. I’d love to grow,” paliwanag pa ni Edward na isa na rin ngayong MYX VJ kung saan din nagsimula sina Luis at Robi.
Dagdag pa niya, “I’ll need guidance of some amazing people including Kuya Robi in order to get there. I don’t want to really think about that. I just want to keep on growing and taking it step by step.”
“Itong 2021, I want to make sure that I’m growing more than I did in the last three years I’ve been in the industry.
“Even in the past hosting jobs that I had, there have been some things I would really like to work on and fix and grow,” lahad ng binata.
Pahabol pa niyang mensahe, “Kailangan kong sumugal ng konti ngayong taon. To jump, to take risks. I’ll take a chance. I’ll train, not try.”
Napapanood si Edward every Wednesday sa online show ng MYX Philippines (sa app na Kumu) na “Kwentong Barber”.
