2 milyong empleyado, nasa ‘floating status’ – DOLE

Umaabot sa dalawang milyong empleyado sa bansa ang nasa “floating status.”

Sinabi ni Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Usec. Benjo Benavidez na ang bilang ay mga nagtatrabaho sa 96,000 establisyemento at aniya, ang mga ito ay naka-forced leave dahil maaaring pansamantalang sarado ang kanilang pinagta-trabahuhan.

Ngunit, pahiwatig ni Benavidez, maaaring bumaba na ang bilang dahil marami ng negosyo ang nagbalik-operasyon na simula noong nakaraang buwan.

Paliwanag nito, ang “floating status” ay pinapayagan naman sa batas at sakaling hindi na makabalik sa trabaho ang empleyado makalipas ang anim na buwan ay dapat bigyan na ito ng kaukulang separation pay.

Maaari pa din aniyang mapalawig ang “floating status” ng empleyado ng anim na buwan pa, ngunit hindi dapat ito makakaapekto sa halaga ng kanyang separation pay.

Ayon pa kay Benavidez, maaaring magreklamo sa DOLE ang empleyado na hindi na-rehire makalipas ang anim na buwan o hindi nabigyan ng kanyang separation pay.
