ABS-CBN prexy muling umapela ng patas na pagtrato sa Kamara
MULING umapela si ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak sa Kamara de Representantes kanina na itrato ang kanilang channel gaya ng pagtrato nito sa ibang channel ng mag-aplay ng legislative franchise.
Ginaw ani Katigbak ang apela sa joint hearing ng House committees on Legislative Franchise at on Good Government and Public Accountability kung saan iginiit ng ilang kongresista na dapat itigil na ang TVplus at SkyCable kung saan umere ang mga programa ng ABS-CBN 2.
“Between TVplus and Sky, there are about 11 million homes that have access to our service. Kapag pinutulan po natin ‘yan, that’s almost 55 million people that will lose access to their entertainment, news and information,” ani Katigbak.
“Ang appeal po namin sa Kongreso, in the spirit of fairness, please consider that you have allowed other companies to operate before, even after their franchise have expired for so long as Congress continues to hear their application for renewal.”
Ayon kay Katigbak may mga channel na pinayagan ng Kamara de Representantes na magpatuloy ang operasyon habang dinidinig pa ang aplikasyon nito na magkaroon ng prangkisa.
Nais ng ilang mambabatas na ihinto ng ABS-CBN ang pagpapalabas ng mga programa nito gamit ang TVplus, isang digital box na tumatanggap ng digital signal para lumabas ito sa telebisyon.
