“No one deserves to be threatened with sexual violence for merely voicing out political beliefs. Rape is a serious criminal offense, and hence should never be used casually under any circumstance,” saad ng pahayag ng Gabriela.

“This rape threat against individuals bravely speaking truth to power manifests the kind of dangerous bigotry and macho-fascism that is flowing from the source — no less than President Duterte — down to his supporters.”

Pangilinan.

“This is the same kind of rape threats being used by Duterte’s supporters even against Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas, Kabataan Partylist Rep. Sarah Elago, multi-awarded actress Angel Locsin and other brave Filipino women speaking against the rampant rights violations and social injustice under the Duterte regime.”

“This intolerance to criticism and rotten fanaticism for Duterte must stop. Independent voices must be allowed to thrive without any fear of being in harm’s way. Stop using rape threats to silence critical voices!”
