Dating foreign affairs Sec. Perfecto Yasay pumanaw
SUMAKABILANG buhay ngayong araw si dating Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. Siya ay 73.
Kinumpirma ito sa Facebook post ng kanyang asawa na si Cecile Joaquin Yasay.
“Jun Yasay, you are loved. We will miss you lots,” ani Cecile.
Ayon sa post, pumanaw si Yasay alas-7:26 ng umaga dahil sa pneumonia at cancer.
Isa si Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. sa mga nagluluksa pagkamatay ng dating opisyal.
“Jun Yasay has donned the garment of immortality. More important it makes him finally impervious to pain,” ani Locsin sa post sa Twitter.
“He hurt no one and helped everyone he could. He did what many fighting tyranny had to: shield themselves with US law,” dagdag niya.
Si Yasay ay naging DFA secretary sa ilalim ng kasalukuyang administrasyon. Bago iyon ay nagsilbi siyang chairman ng Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) mula 1995 hanggang 2000.
