Atienza inatras ang boto pabor sa anti-terror bill
UMATRAS na si Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza sa kanyang pagboto ng “yes” sa anti-terror bill.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Atienza na binabawi na niya ang kanyang boto sa panukalang Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.
“We would like to withdraw our affirmative vote on House Bill 6875 and have decided to ABSTAIN instead. People from all walks of life, including my partymates in BUHAY Party-list, are voicing out their violent objections to this bill,” ani Atienza.
Sinabi ni Atienza na maaaring hindi nahimay ng gusto ang panukala dahil sa limitasyon ng virtual session na isinasagawa ng Kamara de Representantes.
“It is important that this bill, which affects the whole nation, should have been lengthily discussed on the floor not only to ensure that all voices are heard. It is to my better judgment to listen to the people objecting to its passage, and recommending that we reconsider and satisfy all issues and questions raised,” dagdag pa ni Atienza.
