Mambabatas, economic managers kailangang mag-usap

DAPAT umanong magkaroon ng dialogue ang mga mambabatas at economic managers ni Pangulong Duterte upang maplantsa ang P1.3 trilyong economic stimulus package na kailangan ng bansa sa paglaban sa epekto ng coronavirus disease 2019.

Ito ang sinabi ni House Deputy Majority Leader at Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera matapos sabihin ni National Economic Development Authority na hindi popondohan ang panukalang Accelerated Recovery and Investments Stimulus for the Economy (ARISE).

Hindi naging maganda ang pagtanggap ng mga kongresista sa pahayag ng NEDA.

“I know where my colleagues in the House are coming from because I myself was quite dismayed when I first heard the statement from NEDA. But then I realized we need to come to terms with the economic managers in order to make sure this highly important and urgent measure will be funded and fully implemented,” ani Herrera.

Naniniwala ang lady solon na magkakaroon ng pagkakasundo ang dalawang panig kung mag-uusap ang mga ito.

“Sakaling hindi mabigyan ng sapat na pondo ang panukalang batas, mahihirapang makabangon ang ating ekonomiya dahil maraming negosyo ang magsasara at marami sa ating mga kababayan ang mawawalan ng hanapbuhay,” ani Herrera.

Tinatayang 15.7 milyong manggagawa ang matutulungan ng ARISE at makadaragdag ito ng 3 milyong short term jobs bukod pa sa 5.57 milyong manggagawa sa Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.

Ngayong taon ang planong gastusan sa ilalim ng ARISE ang MSMEs (P10 bilyon), tourism (P58 bilyon), industry and services (P44 bilyon), transportation (P70 bilyon), agri-fisheries (P66 bilyon) at National Emergency Investment Vehicle (P25 bilyon) upang agad na maiangat ang ekonomiya.
