QC may P2.9B fund para sa new normal sa edukasyon

INAPRUBAHAN ng Quezon City government ang P2.9 bilyong supplemental budget para matugunan ang mga pangangailangan sa new normal sa pagtuturo ngayong walang face-to-face classes.

Ang pondo ang gagamitin ng siyudad sa pagpondo sa mga kakailanganing gamit gaya ng gadgets, printed modules, at internet allowances para sa mahigit 430,000 estudyante sa pampublikong paaralan.

“We are adjusting our budget to ensure that our children will continue learning despite the sudden shift from traditional to alternative learning modalities,” ani Belmonte.

Bibigyan ng tablet ng city government ang 155,921 enrolled junior high school students at 19,810 enrolled senior high school students.

Mamimigay din ng modules, learning packets at mga karagdagang printed materials sa mga kinder hanggang grade school students.

Magbibigay din ng internet allowance ang siyudad sa mga guro.

Ayon kay Aly Medalla, Education Affairs Head ng QC, may plano rin ang gobyerno na gamitin ang bahagi ng special education funds para madagdagan ang gadget na bibilhin ng Department of Education para sa mga guro sa lungsod.

“The city plans to assign gadgets to all public schools and other educational facilities that teachers can share through a shifting schedule,” ani Medalla. “We also intend to improve or increase internet connectivity in schools so more teachers have access to the Internet.”
