INILUNSAD ng Bureau of Immigration ang online appointment system nito para sa mga kailangang pumunta sa kanilang main office sa Intramuros, Manila.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente layunin ng bagong sistema na matiyak na masusunod ang social distancing sa kanilang tanggapan bilang bahagi ng paglaban sa pagkalat ng coronavirus disease 2019.
“Henceforth, only clients with appointment code will be served during the specified date and time of their appointment,” ani Morente sa isang press statement.
Ang mga papapasukin lamang ay ang mga tao na may dalang government-issued o valid identification card.
“Nonetheless, clients may still avail of the services of BI-accredited travel agencies and law offices if they wish so that the latter may secure the online appointment and transact business on their behalf.”
Makikita ang panuntunan at requirement na kailangan sa isang BI transaction sa website ng ahensya (www.immigration.gov.ph)
Ipinaalala naman ni BI OIC Spokesperson Melvin Mabulac na bawal pa ring pumasok sa bansa ang mga dayuhan na mayroong Permanent Resident Visa.
Ang mga pinapayagan lamang umano ay ang mga foreign crew ng mga eruplano na pinayagang lumapag sa bansa, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), dayuhang asawa at anak ng isang Filipino citizens at foreign diplomats.
