“New normal arrangement” sa kolehiyo

MAGPAPATUPAD ng “flexible learning” scheme o “new normal arrangement” ang Commission on Higher Education sa mga unibersidad at kolehiyo kung magbubukas ang klase sa Agosto.

Sa virtual hearing ng House committee on higher education kahapon, sinabi ni CHED chairman Prospero de Vera III na gagamitin ang digital at non-digital technology sa pagpapatuloy ng klase.

“I think the concern on the opening of classes is really because many policy makers and the general public actually think that re-infection is a problem because when HEIs [higher education institutions] open they will do the usual face-to-face or residential learning,” ani de Vera.

Imposible umano na maipatupad ang online learning sa bansa dahil sa limitasyon ng internet connectivity sa maraming lugar at ang kawalan nito sa mga estudyante.

Bago pa umano ipinatupad ang Enhanced Community Quarantine ay may mga eskuwelahan na gumagamit ng flexible learning at ang iba ay naghahanda na rin sa paggamit nito.

Bahagi ng flexible learning ang limitadong physical interaction ng mga estudyante at faculty, paglalayo-layo ng mga upuan sa silid-aralan at pagpapatupad ng social distancing sa mga common area.

Kailangan din umanong magkaroon ng capacity building o training sa mga faculty members upang maging sila ay maging epektibo sa pagtuturo.

Ang mga eskuwelahan umano na hindi makapagpapatupad ng flexible learning ay maaaring matagalan ang pagbubukas.

“Any delay in opening including the proposals of some to move the opening to October or even later will affect the cash flow of these universities and the potential revenue loss because they will not be able to collect any tuition it could be as long as half a year if we move it to September,” ani de Vera.
