UMAPELA ang isang partylist group sa gobyerno na unahin sa pagsasagawa ng mass testing ang Quezon City, ang lugar kung saan pinakamarami ang nahawa ng coronavirus disease 2019.
Ayon sa Anakpawis sa Quezon City may pinakamaraming kaso ng COVID-19 sa National Capital Region at 28 barangay nito o halos 20 porsyento ng 142 barangay ang nasa ilalim ng extreme enhanced community quarantine.
“We seriously appeal to Mayor (Joy) Belmonte to push for the urgent mass testing on her constituents to serve as basis for a data-driven response to the epidemic. She should not wait for April 14, the pronounced date by the national task force for the mass testing,” ani dating Anakpawis Rep. Ariel Casilao.
Nasa ilalim ng EECQ ang Barangay B. L. Crame, Bagong Silangan, Bahay Toro, Batasan Hills, Central, Culiat, E. Rodriguez, Holy Spirit, Kalusugan, Kamuning, Maharlika, Manresa, Marilag, Matandang Balara, Paligsahan, Paltok, Pasong Tamo, Payatas, Pinyahan, R. Magsaysay, San Isidro Galas, San Roque, Socorro, South Triangle, Sto. Domingo, Tandang Sora, Tatalon at Teachers Village West.
Ang Barangay Batasan Hills, Payatas, Pat asong Tamo ay mayroon umanong populasyon na 100,000-160,000 katao samantalang ang Tandang Sora, Bagong Silangan, Matandang Balara at Bahay Toro ay may populasyon na 70,000- 85,000 katao.
“We also laud the mayor for her order for mandatory use of face masks and its free distribution. It is one of the doable and concrete steps to oppose the spread of the virus. Moreover, we appeal to her to guarantee relief and food aid volunteers their protection against abuses by the police, such as the incident yesterday at Barangay San Roque,” dagdag pa ng dating solon.
Ang Quezon City ang ika-11 sa may pinakamataas na population density na umaabot sa 17,000 kada kilometro kuwadrado.
