COVID-19 testing center sa Mindanao iisa lang
IISANG ospital lamang sa Mindanao ang pinayagan ng Department of Health na magsagawa ng coronavirus disease 2019 testing.
Nanawagan si Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez sa DoH na i-accredit ang mga regional hospital sa Mindanao upang mas maging mabilis ang paglabas sa resulta ng test sa mga posibleng nahawahan ng COVDI-19.
Sa kasalukuyan tanging ang Southern Philippines Medical Center sa Davao City ang itinalagang testing laboratory ng DoH.
Ang Northern Mindanao Medical Center sa Cagayan de Oro ay napili umano bilang Covid-19 referral center pero hanggang ngayon ay wala itong testing laboratory at test kits.
“The swab samples are still sent to Davao City, causing much delay,” ani Rodriguez.
Ayon kay Rodriguez ang pagkakaroon ng mas maraming testing laboratories ay nakalinya sa rekomendasyon ng World Health Organization na magsagawa ng mass evaluation sa mga pinaghihinalaang coronavirus carriers.
“Many of our regions are far from Davao City like the Zamboanga area and the islands of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi,” dagdag pa ng solon.
