“Today, it was reported that three persons under investigation in the Davao region already died while awaiting test confirmatory report from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. We have received reports also that two PUIs in Tarlac and another one in Iloilo already died but the confirmatory results if they indeed were CoViD 19 positive are not yet available. Now we will never know because the protocol is that the bodies would immediately be cremated,” ani Zarate.
“This could have been prevented if there were already testing and confirmatory centers, at least in regional centers, all over the country that could have been done earlier. Worse, it appears that it is the DOH itself that is violating its own protocol by testing asymptomatic VIPs,” dagdag pa ni Zarate.
Sa kasalukuyan ang laboratory tests ng COVID-19 ay ginagawa lamang sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine sa Muntinlupa City dahil hindi pa tapos ang subnational laboratories sa San Lazaro Hospital sa Manila, Lung Center of the Philippines sa Quezon City, Baguio General Hospital, Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center sa Cebu City, at Southern Philippines Medical Center sa Davao City.
