Coney Reyes maraming tinanggihang project sa GMA, ABS-CBN: Ayoko pang mag-work

BINALIKAN ng award-winning veteran actress na si Coney Reyes ang pagsisimula ng kanyang showbiz career noon sa GMA 7.

Sa nakaraang mediacon ng bagong Kapuso primetime drama na Love Of My Life, humarap si Coney sa members ng press at todo pasalamat nga siya sa GMA na nagse-celebrate na ng kanilang 70th year.

“My first daily show was Student Canteen before I moved on to Eat Bulaga and then my first drama was Coney Reyes-Mumar Studio which went on to be Coney Reyes-Mumar on the Set and then Coney Reyes on Camera,” unang pahayag ng aktres.

“It’s such a blessing to be part of something that Channel 7, GMA, is doing for its 70th anniversary. For those who have not yet been born during those days, I started my career in 1975 here,” pahayag ng aktres.

Nagbabalik-GMA nga si Coney this year kung saan muli siyang gaganap na kontrabida sa Love Of My Life na pagbibidahan nina Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez, Mikael Daez at Rhian Ramos.

“It’s really just a joy to be back here and in GMA to do this special teleserye with such talented group of artists. It’s been a real joy working with each one of them, discovering them, along with the production staff and the crew. [Direk] Don Michael Perez I think is a brilliant director.

“We learn from each other. If they say they learn from me, I also learn from them so it’s a continuous learning process,” aniya pa.

Huling napanood ang nanay ni Mayor Vico Sotto sa Kapuso fantasy series na Victor Magtanggol noong 2018 na pinagbidahan ni Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards.

Aniya, nagpahinga muna siya sa pag-arte kaya marami rin siyang tinanggihang projects last year, “Actually, may offers talaga na natatanggihan ko kasi parang hindi pa ako ready. So, I’m very happy kasi, actually, both networks have been very kind to me.

“Both networks have been good to me, offering really, really good roles. At my age, I’m getting these projects. This new GMA series, it came at a time when I was ready to go back to work.

“I was receiving offers kasi from both networks. Pero nagkataon na ready na ako, ito na. Kasi, noong time like noong kampanya, ayaw kong mag-work. Tapos sabi ko after oath-taking na, after ganito, after ganu’n. I just wanted to rest talaga,” sey pa ni Coney na ang tinutukoy ay ang kampanya ni Vico noong tumakbong mayor sa Pasig last year.

Dagdag pa niya, “So, after noong naka-rest na ako, I was praying, ‘Okay, Lord, if I have offers from both networks, kung sino ang mauna kung puwede na ako mag-work, yun ang gusto ko.’ Biglang ito, at saka siguro the Lord wanted me to celebrate the 70 years with them.”
