Duterte pinal nang hindi bibisita sa US; pagkansela ng US visa ni dela Rosa sinisi

PINAL nang hindi dadalo si Pangulong Duterte sa US-Association of Southeast Asian Nation (US-ASEAN) na nakatakda sana sa Marso ngayong taon,

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na nakadagdag sa desisyon ni Duterte na tanggihan ang imbitasyon ni US President Donald Trump ang pagkakansela ng US visa ni Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

“He said he is not going, for many reasons. well for one, was the cancellation of Sen, Bato dela Rosa’s visa that added to the other factors,” sabi ni Panelo.

Bukod sa kanselasyon ng US visa ni dela Rosa, isa pang rason ng pagtanggi ni Duterte na wag pumunta sa US-ASEAN summit sa Las Vegas ay pakikialam ng mga Amerika sa pagpapakulong kay Senator Leila de Lima.

“The demand of US senators to release Senator de lima is an intrusion… they cannot dictate on us to release de lima, who is a citizen of this country and who is lawfully detained,” ayon pa kay Panelo.

Nauna na ring ipinag-utos ni Duterte ang terminasyon ng Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) dahil sa pagkansela ng US visa ni dela Rosa.

Idinagdag ni Panelo na inaasahan ang pag-aksyon ni Foreign Affairs Secretary TeddyBoy Locsin matapos ang direktiba ni Duterte laban sa VFA.
