We are at a crucial point in our nation’s history where Mayor Digong expressed indescribable frustration upon realizing how deep the illegal drugs problem in the country is; how destructive partisan politics are; how virulent poverty is, and how deeply entrenched and selfish the oligarchs and the powers-that-be are.
It’s so bad that the Mayor has almost given up in utter exasperation by saying he is ready to die anytime soon with barely two-and-a-half years to go into his full term of office.
It is at this point that working people and their families miss FPJ’s inspiration to fight for what is right, to be decently brave, and to rise above oppression as he explicitly portrayed differently in his movies.
Workers and their families missed FPJ’s inspiration in times like these when their current hero has almost given up at a time when life’s hardships seem more of the same decades ago.
