Unang gold medal ng Pilipinas sa fencing nakamit na
SEA Games fencing individual sabre gold medalist Jylyn Nicanor
NAKAMIT ni Jylyn Nicanor ang unang gold medal ng Pilipinas sa fencing matapos maungusan si Diah Permatasari ng Indonesia, 15-14, sa finals ng women’s individual sabre competition Huwebes ng hapon sa World Trade Center.
Naging dikdikan ang iskor na nag-umpisa sa 11-11 bago naungusan ni Nicanor si Permatasari matapos niyang maitabla ang iskor sa 14-14.
Nakapasok sa finals si Nicanor matapos biguin si Tonpan Pokeaw ng Thailand sa kanilang semifinals match, 15-9.
Bago ang gold ni Nicanor ay naghatid ng silver medal sina Christian Jhester Concepcion at Haniel Abella habang sina Samantha Catantan, Nathaniel Perez at Noelito Jose Jr. ay nag-uwi ng bronze medal para sa PH fencing team.
