PATAY ang 54-anyos na lalaki mula sa bayan ng Bustos, Bulacan matapos tamaan ng sakit na meningococcemia noong Oktubre 28, o limang araw matapos na maospital sa San Lazaro Hospital, Maynila, ayon sa local health officials.
Sinabi ni Dr. Lito Trinidad, pinuno ng Baliwag District Hospital, na unang ginamot ang pasyente sa Bustos Community Hospital at inilipat sa Baliwag District Hospital noong Oktubre 23.
Kinabukasan, inilipat ang biktima sa San Lazaro Hospital kung saan lumabas sa resulta ng mga pagsusuri na tinamaan ang pasyente ng meningococcemia, isang respiratory infection na dulot ng Neisseria meningitidis bacteria.
Iginiit naman ni Trinidad na wala namang dapat ikaalarma ang mga residente sa Baliwag at Bustos.
“The medical facilities where the patient was treated had already been disinfected and were kept unused for 48 hours,” sabi Trinidad.
