DFA
LIGTAS ang pitong Pinoy na nakatira sa isang gusali sa Maldives na nilamon ng apoy, ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Sinabi ng DFA na nangyari ang sunog sa kapital na lungsod ng Maldives, ang Malé city noong Biyernes ng gabi, na nagresulta para mawalan ng bahay ang daang-daang residente.
Idinagdag ng DFA na patuloy na minomonitor ng Philippine Embassy sa Bangladesh, na may hurisdiksyon sa Maldives, at Philippine Consulate sa Malé, ang sitwasyon sa Maldives.
Sa isang post sa Facebook, sinabi ng Maldives Airport Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFF) na nagbigay ang mga bumbero nito ng suporta sa Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) at nagtrabaho ng 10 oras para para makontrol ang sunog at mailigtas ang mga apektadong residente.
“Our prayers are with the families and individuals affected. May Allah make it easy for everyone of us,” sabi ng ARFF.
