JM de Guzman kinasuhan ng ‘frustrated murder’, kampo ng aktor may kontra demanda

KASONG frustrated murder ang isinampa laban sa aktor na si JM de Guzman sa Quezon City Regional Trial Court ng negosyanteng si Pitt Norman Zafra.

Ayon sa report, ito’y konektado sa umano’y pambubugbog ni JM at kaibigan nitong foreigner kay Zafra noong May 7, 2019, sa isang restobar sa Quezon City.

Sa imbestigasyon ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit ng Quezon City Police District (CIDU-QCPD), naganap ang insidente alas-8:45 ng gabi sa Flying House Resto Bar sa Brgy. Teachers Village West, Quezon City. 

Nauna na itong itinanggi ni JM (May 12, 2019) sa pamamagitan ng isang Instagram post. Ayon sa kampo ng Kapamilya actor, “rehash” lang ang frustrated murder case na isinampa ni Zafra laban sa binata ng kasong physical injuries complaint nito sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Quezon City na iniurong na noong nakaraang Aug. 8, 2019.

Ayon sa mga abogado ni JM, sa pagsasampa ng bagong complaint ni Zafra, unfair daw para sa aktor na ma-preempt ang proceedings dahil sa pagkakalat ng negative publicity laban kay JM at bukod dito wala pa raw nagaganap na preliminary investigation.

Narito ang official statement ng Star Magic na humahawak sa career ni JM hinggil dito sa pamamagitan ng legal counsel ng aktor na sina Atty. Louie Aseoche at Atty. Juan Paolo Tumbali. 

“On behalf of JM de Guzman, we would like to inform everyone that there are reports circulating that a certain Pitt Norman Zafra has recently filed a complaint for ‘Frustrated Murder’ against JM and another individual at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Quezon City.

“The Complaint-Affidavit of Mr. Zafra is actually a rehash of a previous complaint he filed for ‘Physical Injuries’ which he withdrew before the City Prosecutor Office in Quezon City on August 8, 2019

JM is surprised why Mr. Zafra would now want him to answer for a more serious charge under the same set of factual circumstances as the complaint that he withdrew last month.

“We believe that the proper venue where facts can be distiled from fiction would be before the Investigating Prosecutor in Quezon City, not in media.

“Since Mr. Zafra had already filed his complaint, it is most unfair of Mr. Zafra to preempt the proceedings by spreading negative publicity against JM when the Investigating Prosecutor of Quezon City still has to conduct a preliminary investigation on the charges.

“We are confident that JM has the necessary evidence, both testimonial and electronic, to prove his innocence.

“JM will most certainly file counter charges against Mr. Zafra.”
