Catriona, Pia, Vice sanib-pwersa para sa karapatan ng LGBTQ: ‘SOGIE ‘ isabatas na!

PAGKATAPOS manawagan ni Vice Ganda sa pamahalaan na bigyan ng sariling comfort room ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQ+ para hindi na maulit ang nangyari sa transwoman na si Gretchen Diaz, sinundan naman ito ng pakiusap nina Catriona Gray at Pia Wurtzbach.
Si Gretchen Diez ang transgender na pinagbawalang gumamit ng pambabaeng CR na inaresto, pinosasan at dinala pa sa istasyon ng pulis.
Nagsanib-pwersa ang dalawang Miss Universe para manawagan sa mga kinauukulan na isulong na agad ang LGBTQ+ rights para maprotektahan ang tulad ni Gretchen.
Post ni Pia sa kanyang Instagram, “Did you hear about what happened? Me too!
“We have different ways to promote our causes and support the LGBTQIA+ community. Some through advocating for policy, some for demand generation and some for awareness.
“No action is too small! Every effort creates ripples of positive change that we need to finally stop stigma and discrimination (both external and within the community itself).”
Para naman kay Catriona, mas makabubuti kung isasabatas na ang Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression Equality Bill (SOGIE) na naglalayong protektahan laban sa diskriminasyon ang LGBTQ+ community.
“LGBTQ+ rights are HUMAN rights – mga karapatang pangkaligtasan at kalayaan mula sa diskriminasyon, karahasan at pagmamalupit batay sa pagkakakilanlan.
“The incident happened in a city that has an existing anti-discrimination bill. Ibig sabihin, walang saysay ang isang bill na hindi maipatupad sa isang komunidad.
“Ang LGBTQ+ ay nakikipaglaban para sa kanilang mga karapatan – ang karapatan sa kaligtasan, proteksyon at pagkakapantay-pantay – ay laban din natin. #SOGIEEqualityNow,” pahayag pa ni Catriona.
