Manila Water, Maynilad manghihiraman ng tubig

MAAARI umanong kumuha ng tubig ang Manila Water at Maynilad sa mga water concessionaire sa probinsya habang kulang pa ang tubig ng Angat dam.

Sa pagdinig ng Kamara de Representantes, sinabi ni Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo na dapat umpisahan na ng National Water Regulatory Board at Local Water Utilities Administration ang mga short term solution sa kakulangan ng suplay ng tubig sa Metro Manila.

“We should now start with the implementation of the measures agreed upon during our hearing last Tuesday for the sake of countrymen,” ani Arroyo.

Suportado naman ng Manila Water at Maynilad ang pagkuha ng tubig sa mga karatig probinsya ng National Capital Region.

“This problem needs swift and decisive action. Time is of the essence,” dagdag pa ni Arroyo.

Sinuportahan din ni Arroyo ang panukalang pagtatayo ng Department of Water, Irrigation, Sewage and Sanitation Resource Management sa susunod na Kongreso bilang bahagi ng long term solution sa kakulangan ng tubig.

Ngayong araw ang tubig sa Angat dam ay 158.02 metro bumaba ng 0.13 metro mula sa 158.15 metro noong Huwebes ng umaga.

Ang tubig sa La Mesa dam ay naitala naman sa 70.18 metro mula sa 70.16 metro.
