SISIKAPIN ng Letran Knights na mapalawig sa lima ang winning streak nito sa 89th NCAA men’s basketball tournement.
Makakasagupa ngayon ng Letran ang Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates umpisa alas-4 ng hapon sa The Arena sa San Juan City.

Sa ikalawang laro ay maghaharap ang  nagdedepensang kampeon San Beda College Red Lions at ang humahataw na Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers dakong alas-6 ng gabi.

Huling pinadapa ng tropa ni Letran coach Caloy Garcia ang host team College of St. Benilde, 61-60. Bagamat nakuha ang ikaapat na sunod na panalo, hindi masaya si Garcia sa ipinakita ng kanyang mga bataan dahil muntik pa silang maungusan ng wala pang panalong Blazers sa larong iyon.

“We have to learn how to play better especially sa start ng game, lagi kaming slow start,” wika ni Garcia. Kailangang maging mabangis ang Knights dahil ang Pirates ay susubok na bumangon matapos matalo sa University of Perpetual Help Altas para sa 2-2 baraha.

Ang Red Lions ay aasinta rin ng ikalimang panalo sa anim na laro laban sa Heavy Bombers na may 3-2 baraha. Gigil ang tropa ni JRU coach Vergel Meneses na makaisa sa San Beda para manatiling kasama sa unang apat na koponan sa liga.
