Drug test sa mga kongresista, staff isinulong

NANAWAGAN si House committee on dangerous drug chairman at Surigao del Norte Rep. Ace Barbers sa mga kapwa niya kongresista na uupo sa susunod na Kongreso na magpa-drug test.

Bukod sa mga kongresista, sinabi ni Barbers na dapat ding magpa-drug test ang mga staff ng mga kongresista bilang pagsuporta sa kampanya ni Pangulong Duterte laban sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.

“While some may claim that it is unnecessary, I think all members of the incoming 18th Congress and their staff should submit themselves for a mandatory drug testing. New members of the uniformed service, public and private offices are being required nowadays to submit to a drug test. And why don’t we? Are we exempt from this?” tanong ni Barbers.

Inihain ni Barbers ang House Resolution 15 noong nakaraang taon para sa isang “drug free Congress” at muli umano niya itong ihahain sa susunod na Kongreso upang maging mandatory umano ang drug test sa mga kongresista at kawani ng Kamara.

“The House of Representatives should underscore its commitment, support and participation to anti-drug policies, programs and projects of the Duterte administration by ensuring that its own workplace is a drug-free institution.”

Nauna rito, lumabas sa ulat na nanalo sa katatapos na halalan ang mga pulitiko na iniugnay ni Duterte sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.

“We, the incoming members of the 18th Congress and our staff, should all come in ‘clean’ and be free from negative suspicion by submitting ourselves to a mandatory drug test,” dagdag pa ng solon.
